Esophageal duplication cysts are a rare cause of dysphagia in adults. Sometimes these are confused with Tumours.
This is ever smiling Mr Das, 62 yrs who presented with difficulty in swallowing food and chest pain for 6 months. He was evaluated with upper GI endoscopy, CT scan and endoscopic ultrasound.
His lesion was resected thoracoscopically ( Minimal Invasive Surgery) instead of conventional Thoracotomy ( open Surgery ). He was allowed diet on day 2 and discharged on 4th postoperative day. This is him with his son in a follow up visit after 3 weeks.
