Also called minimally invasive surgery, is a type of operation done through very small incisions (cuts) using a special instrument called a laparoscope.
A laparoscope is a thin, flexible tube with a camera and light on the end. It lets surgeons see inside the body without making large cuts. Special small tools are inserted through other tiny incisions to perform the surgery while the surgeon watches the inside view on a monitor.
Because the cuts are smaller, laparoscopic surgery usually means:
- Less pain
- Faster recovery
- Smaller scars
- Shorter hospital stays
Common laparoscopic surgery
- Hernia Surgery
- Gallbladder Surgery
- Pancreatic Cancer
- Colorectal Cancer
- Liver Cancer
- Esophagus Cancer Surgery
